Approximately 150 people attended the service, but the attack was swiftly neutralized by a security guard who shot and killed the 31-year-old attacker.

The shooting unfolded around 11 a.m. on Sunday at Crosspointe Community Church, located about 30 miles west of Detroit, Michigan.

What began as a peaceful worship service quickly descended into chaos when gunfire erupted in the church parking lot, sending congregants, including children, running for cover.

In an extraordinary display of courage and quick thinking, a churchgoer reportedly ran over the shooter with a truck before the security guard.

This was despite being wounded in the leg himself, he exited the church and fatally shot the assailant.

This decisive action prevented what could have been a much more devastating attack on the faithful gathered for worship.

The Wayne Police Department is actively investigating the incident and has requested that the public avoid the area.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed federal involvement, stating, “Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support.”

A video livestream from inside the church captured the terrifying moments as the congregation reacted to the shooter.

The footage showed people running and taking cover as they realized what was happening.

Remarkably, despite the chaos and danger, only one person was reported wounded beyond the shooter himself.

Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr. later confirmed that approximately 150 people were attending the service when the shooting occurred.

The church, located in Wayne, a suburb of Detroit with a population of about 17,000, serves as a spiritual home for many in the community.

At the same time, this church was prepared to defend its congregation—a decision that undoubtedly saved lives.

The courage shown by both the security guard and the quick-thinking congregant with the truck exemplifies how armed citizens can stop evil in its tracks.

Authorities have scheduled a press conference for today to provide updates on the investigation.

Although details about the shooter’s identity and motives have not yet been released, the community is already rallying in support of the church and those affected by this traumatic event.

The leadership within Wayne and the broader Michigan policing community is dedicated to bringing clarity to this case.

Their response underlines the values that protect Americans against rising gun violence concerns.
