Mitt Romney’s Shocking Announcement

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING UPDATE: This afternoon, Mitt Romney announced he will not seek reelection to the Senate in 2024.

In a shocking move given his past statements and behavior, Republican U.S. Senator Mitt Romney, who has the reputation of a “Biden apologist,” stunned many members of the GOP by declaring he approves of impeachment proceedings against Biden.

Romney said he didn’t think an impeachment procedure against Biden was “inappropriate” after earlier on Tuesday the Republican Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, announced its launch.

McCarthy enumerated six reasons behind the investigation. Those range from Hunter Biden’s murky foreign business dealings and the $20 million in cash wire transfers the Bidens have gotten from Communist China, Putin’s Russia, and other foreign destinations – all the way to the US Justice Department allegedly shielding the first son from severe charges.

“The fact that the White House has been singularly silent and coddled Hunter Biden suggests an inquiry is not inappropriate,” Senator Mitt Romney of Utah briefly told reporters, as cited by Breitbart News.

Besides losing the 2012 presidential election to Barack Obama, Romney is known for voting to convict then-President Donald Trump during his 2021 impeachment trial initiated by the Democrats over the January 6 events at the U.S. Capitol.

In his remarks on the launch of an impeachment inquiry, House Speaker McCarthy said the claims against Biden indicated “abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption.”

He also pointed out the existence of a 2020 FBI informant file alleging that a pro-Russian Ukrainian oligarch, Mykola Zlochevsky, bribed Joe and Hunter Biden with $10 million while the former was vice president.

“This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public. It’s exactly what we want to know: the answers,” McCarthy declared on Tuesday.

Breitbart’s report emphasizes that Romney’s approval of the Biden impeachment inquiry comes as he faces a “tough” opponent in the GOP primary for his seat – Trent Staggs, the mayor of Riverton, Utah.

“[Romney] just hasn’t demonstrated leadership where it needs to be in pushing back against the establishment changing the status quo so it actually improves the lot of everyday Americans,” the Riverton mayor said regarding the senator.

“So, I don’t expect that we’ll see anything other than him continuing to collude with, yes, sadly, the McConnell-Schumer Cabal,” Staggs concluded.
