(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING NOW: The UK neonatal nurse, previously charged with the murders of seven infants and the attempted murders of another six, was convicted on Friday, categorizing her as one of the most notorious modern-day serial killers in British history.
33-year-old Lucy Letby was deemed responsible for causing the deaths of five baby boys and two girls from 2015 to 2016 while working at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
It took the jury 22 days of deliberations to determine that Letby intentionally hurt these defenseless infants by “injecting air into their bloodstreams, poisoning them with insulin, and administering air or milk into their stomachs.”
While Letby was cleared of one count of attempted murder, the jury did not provide a decision on several other charges.
On Aug. 8, upon being found guilty of two counts of attempted murder, Letby was visibly emotional and cried. She opted not to be present in the courtroom during later verdict announcements.
As reported by the Independent, it is expected that Letby will be handed a mandatory life sentence.
