(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a surprise “too-little-too-late” reversal of its catastrophic open-border policy, Joe Biden’s administration has resumed building his predecessor Donald Trump’s “bigoted” wall on the Southern Border.

Amid a fresh surge in the number of invading illegal immigrants, Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, announced on Wednesday that he is restarting the border wall construction in Southern Texas.

President Joe Biden stopped the border wall building on his first day in the White House in January 2021.

Since then, more than 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States. According to Customs and Border Protection estimates, that number includes about 2 million gotaways who entered the country without getting apprehended.

Biden’s decision to go back to building the wall comes “after years of criticism” against the Trump administration’s initiative, Fox News stresses in a report.

In his border wall announcement on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas declared an “acute and immediate need” to waive 26 federal laws to revive the building activity.

These include the Clean Air, Safe Drinking Water, and Endangered Species Acts.

The new border wall sections will be constructed in the Starr County area, which falls within the Rio Grande Valley Sector of the US Border Patrol.

“[The border wall construction is] just one example of the prior administration’s misplaced priorities and failure to manage migration in a safe, orderly and humane way,” the Biden administration stated in early 2021 when it terminated the project.

Fox notes that Joe Biden’s criticism of Trump’s border wall began in 2019, even before the then-former vice president had announced his presidential candidacy.

In a CNN interview at the time, Biden rejected Trump’s words that former presidents had told him they should have put up a wall on the border with Mexico.

“I don’t know a single one. I can’t think of a single one who said that,” Biden stated.

During his presidential campaign, in August 2020, he told the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists he wouldn’t destroy the already existing sections of the wall but would build no more of it.

“There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration,” Biden proclaimed back then.
