The White House task force will ensure the international tournament is successful and showcases American excellence to the world.

With Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy involved, the administration is prioritizing both visitor experience and national security.

President Trump announced that Andrew Giuliani would be the executive director of the presidential task force overseeing the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The task force was established in March to coordinate government agencies for the tournament, which the United States, Mexico, and Canada will jointly host. Most matches will take place on American soil.

“I am proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Giuliani as the Executive Director of the President’s Task Force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” Trump stated.

Andrew previously served as a special assistant to the President during his first term and played “a key role in creating the system that enabled athletes from around the World to re-enter the United States during the Reopening of America in 2020.”

His experience working with international athletic organizations makes him well-suited to coordinate the massive logistical operation required for the world’s most popular sporting event.

Carlos Cordeiro, former President of the US Soccer Federation, who helped secure the United States as a host nation, will serve as Senior Advisor to the task force.

His soccer expertise complements Giuliani’s government experience, creating a leadership team that understands the sport and administrative challenges.

The task force held its first meeting at the White House, attended by Vice President JD Vance, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

“I know Andrew and Carlos will work tirelessly to make the 2026 FIFA World Cup an unprecedented success,” Trump remarked.

Moreover, the US will host 78 of the 104 World Cup games across 11 American cities, including Miami, Boston, Seattle, and Dallas.

The championship match will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Each host city could see up to 450,000 visitors and an economic impact of up to $480 million, providing a tremendous boost to local businesses.

Vice President Vance highlighted the non-political nature of the event and the opportunity to showcase American hospitality.

Secretary Noem and Duffy committed to ensuring the tournament’s safety and security and addressing concerns about border security during a major international event.

The Trump administration’s approach starkly contrasts with the previous administration’s neglect of preparations for this global event.

By appointing dedicated leadership more than a year in advance, President Trump is ensuring America will be fully prepared to welcome the world in 2026, reflecting his America First commitment to excellence and proper planning.
