(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Donald Trump seems set to return to the White House as polls find he has an advantage over his presumptive 2024 rival, Joe Biden, especially if Green Party candidate Cornel West is also on the ballot.

Trump remains the frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination by a margin of dozens of points, while the incumbent president faces no significant competition for the Democratic nomination.

A new survey by Emerson College found that in a new Donald Trump – Joe Biden matchup, the former president enjoys the support of 46% of American voters vs. 44% for the current White House occupant and 10% undecided.

Yet, the poll also established that Green Party candidate Cornell West is featured in the 2024 election, Trump will be backed by 44% of the voters, Biden’s support will slip to 39%, West will get 5%, and 13% will be undecided.

Breitbart News comments that the poll result “plays into the concerns of many Democrats” fearing that West’s candidacy “could essentially aid Trump in his conquest to defeat Biden in 2024.”

The same observation was recently made by Obama’s former chief strategist, David Axelrod, who wrote on X that Cornell West’s third-party presidential bid was “risky.”

He compared it to the 2016 election case in which Green Party candidate Jill Stein “stole” votes from Democrat Hillary Clinton and contributed to her defeat by Donald Trump.

“In 2016, the Green Party played an outsized role in tipping the election to Donald Trump. Now, with Cornel West as their likely nominee, they could easily do it again. Risky business,” Axelrod stated in July.

The Emerson poll was conducted last weekend among 1,000 registered voters with an error margin of 3 percentage points.

Meanwhile, another national survey, by McLaughlin & Associates, projected Trump would beat Biden in 2024 “in an electoral landslide,” Newsmax reports.

According to the McLaughlin poll, Trump leads Biden with 47% voter support to 43%, and his lead grew by two percentage points in August alone.

The survey also found that the former president enjoys even greater voter support in key battleground states, leading the Democrat incumbent 49% to 41%.

“The race between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is no longer close. Trump is clearly leading. It’s still early, but Trump has pulled off a stunning turnaround since the 2020 election,” pollsters John and Jim McLaughlin wrote in a Newsmax article.

The McLaughlin poll was conducted from August 15-23 among 1,000 voters, with an error margin of 3.1 percentage points.
