(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Infamous rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested at a New York City hotel as part of a federal investigation into sex trafficking.

According to officials, the 54-year-old traveled to New York expecting to be arrested on federal charges following a grand jury indictment, prosecutors and sources said.

Combs, who had been seen earlier walking through Manhattan with his son Christian “King” Combs, was taken into custody at the Park Hyatt New York by Homeland Security Investigations, which handles most sex-trafficking cases.

Although it was not immediately clear what specific charges Combs was facing, he was expected to be prosecuted in a Manhattan federal court, when the indictment against him would be revealed.

“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY,” Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a statement.

In recent years, the rapper has faced multiple accusations of sexual and physical abuse during the height of his career as a producer for major hip-hop stars like Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil Kim, and Biggie Smalls in the ‘90s and early 2000s.

Last November, R&B singer Cassie Ventura sued Diddy and accused him of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and even trafficking during their years-long relationship.

Although they quickly settled, Ventura’s lawsuit sparked a wave of other claims. Since then, over half a dozen women have come forward with their own allegations against Combs.

Though Combs denied the allegations and settled the lawsuit within a day, a video surfaced showing him assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. The clip showed Combs throwing Ventura to the ground, punching, pulling, and kicking her.

The day after the footage aired, Combs posted a video apologizing for the assault — the first time he publicly addressed any of the allegations.

In March, Homeland Security raided Combs’ homes in Beverly Hills and Miami. While the exact purpose of the raids is not clear, they are believed to be connected to the sex trafficking investigation.

In addition, some women accused Combs in their lawsuits, claiming he drugged and raped them, recorded their sexual encounters without consent, and forced them into sexual situations with others.

However, Combs has strongly denied such accusations, appealing the plaintiffs are only after money. The only lawsuit he settled was with Ventura.
