(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Over Labor Day weekend, the community of Lowell, Indiana, witnessed a horrific incident as an illegal alien stabbed a 14-year-old girl without a reason at a baseball game.

According to local authorities, 26-year-old Dimas Gabriel Yanez, an illegal from Honduras, had been previously deported several times.

NBC Chicago reported that the girl was attending her brother’s game when Yanez randomly stabbed her in the hand and then fled the scene. After a long manhunt, Yanez was arrested in a Lake County cornfield following a foot chase.

Local law enforcement hinted that Yanez might have been involved in organized crime since returning to the U.S. illegally.

“It’s believed [Yanez] was in the process of cutting his hair to change his appearance just before he was arrested,” Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said in a statement.

He continued, “Investigators have learned Yanez had been deported to Honduras in 2018 and may have been engaged in criminal activity across the United States since returning to the country illegally.”

Yanez is also accused of trying to attack the girl’s mother when she tried to intervene. The weapon used is thought to be a butcher-style knife.

Moreover, this incident in northwestern Indiana is part of a troubling pattern of high-profile attacks involving illegal migrants.

For example, Laken Riley was killed by a Venezuelan illegal in February, and in June, a Salvadoran accused of killing a Maryland mother of five was arrested.

Additionally, two Venezuelan illegals are accused of sexually assaulting and murdering 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in June.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has been vocal about his stance on illegal immigration, threatening lawsuits against any jurisdictions in the state with “sanctuary city” laws.

“We welcome want-to-be-patriots to the United States who will add value to our country and want to live their lives under the values this country was founded upon,” Rokita stated. “The first way they can show that is by following our laws.”

“Those who do not follow our laws by entering our country illegally should not be allowed to stay,” he added.
