(GoRealNewsNow.com) – A heartbreaking story unfolded as a 10-year-old boy from Greenfield, Indiana, killed himself after reportedly being subjected to a relentless bullying campaign for two years, which his parents said his school failed to stop.

Watch the video further down this post.

According to an interview with his parents, Sam and Nichole Teusch, their son Sammy Teusch committed suicide early this month. Despite their repeated efforts, contacting the school officials 20 times over the past year, the bullying was not adequately addressed.

The bullying began with verbal taunts about his glasses when he was in elementary school and escalated to physical assaults, including incidents where he was beaten up on the school bus, which resulted in broken glasses and bruises, as per the little boy’s parents.

They provided several photos as evidence of the assaults, as his father recounted, “They were making fun of him for his glasses in the beginning, then on to make fun of his teeth. It went on for a long time… He was beat up on the school bus, and the kids broke his glasses and everything.”

Sam Teusch expressed frustration with the school’s response to the ongoing issue. “I called the school, and I’m like, ‘What are you doing about this? It keeps getting worse, and worse, and worse.’”

The superintendent, Dr. Harold Olin, claimed “no bullying report was ever submitted” when he contacted the school about the allegations, but the father maintains, “They knew this was going on.”

In the wake of the tragedy, the Teusch family has seen an overwhelming outpouring of support from their community.

“The past two or three days we’ve probably had 1,000 people here and I probably knew 20 of them … There was a giant man that barely fit through that door who came in here and just had tears flowing down his face, and he gave me the biggest hug,” said Sam Teusch.

In turn, the community has been paying their respects in various ways.

Many have left tributes at a tree in the family’s front yard, and hundreds gathered for Sammy’s funeral at the Brandywine Community Church in Greenfield.
