(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Dreadful video footage showed how a jogger at Tanjung Aru Recreation Park in Sabah, Malaysia, was left seriously injured after being attacked by a group of otters.

Social media has been circulating disturbing images and videos showing a bloodied middle-aged woman sitting on the curb.
She reportedly had injuries to her legs, arms, and head, according to an outlet that also displayed pictures of her wounds. One video even shows otters running around a parking lot.
Shortly after, the injured woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Roland Oliver Niun, Director of the Sabah Wildlife Department, said during an interview, “Preliminary investigations found that a group of otters entered the recreation centre to look for food in the park pond.”
Niun added that there is a known population of otters near the park and that officials have observed changes in their behavior after people began feeding them.
TMZ reported that the government plans to reinforce the park’s fence to address the situation.
Another outlet noted that visitors are being advised to avoid interacting with the animals to prevent further incidents.
While attacks by otters are rare, they do occur. In November 2023, a man in California reported being attacked by otters and receiving 40 puncture wounds.
“These things were so aggressive that, literally, I felt like they wanted to kill me,” Matt Leffers asserted.
Leffers was swimming in Serene Lakes near Lake Tahoe at the time.
“I felt something bite my calf,” he added. “Within seconds, I was bit again. And then I started swimming fast but there was the otter, popped up right in front of me and then I was bit again.”
