(GoRealNewsNow.com) – As though he wasn’t already a huge enough affront to Republican voters’ values and morals – lying New York Rep. George Santos has now been exposed as an identity thief as he was slapped with ten new federal charges in a superseding indictment.

Santos, who flipped a Democrat seat in the 2022 midterms, now faces a total of 23 charges after he was previously indicted over accusations of lying to Congress and embezzling campaign money.

The new charges accuse him of stealing some of his campaign donors’ identities and making unauthorized expenditures amounting to tens of thousands of dollars on their credit cards, The New York Post reports.

“As alleged, Santos is charged with stealing people’s identities and making charges on his own donors’ credit cards without their authorization, lying to the FEC and, by extension, the public about the financial state of his campaign,” US Attorney Breon Peace revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

“Santos falsely inflated the campaign’s reported receipts with non-existent loans and contributions that were either fabricated or stolen,” the prosecutor added.

According to the expanded indictment, 35-year-old Santos allegedly covertly charged over $44,000 to his campaign, using his donors’ cards over several months.

On one occasion, he channeled $12,000, of which the “vast majority” found its way into his personal account.

The superseding indictment against the New York lawmaker who made headlines several months ago after telling various lies about his biography comes after last week, his former campaign treasurer, Nancy Marks, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to commit fraud.

Marks was accused of collaborating with the congressman to manipulate financial records.

Prosecutors further contend that Santos and Marks orchestrated a conspiracy to ensure Santos met the eligibility criteria for a national party committee program, which rendered logistical and financial support to campaigns that achieved a minimum of $250,000 in donor contributions within a quarter.

The duo allegedly lied in financial statements that a minimum of 10 members of the Santos family had made substantial contributions to the campaign, fully aware of the inaccuracy of these claims.

Moreover, despite having less than $8,000 across his personal and business accounts, it was claimed that Santos had extended a loan of approximately $500,000 to his campaign.

The disgraced lawmaker has insisted that Marks committed violations after she “went rogue.”

A new social media video showed him refusing to comment on his new charges, claiming he hadn’t learned about them yet.
