Tonight’s the Night – Will You Watch?

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In an event that might shake up the already turbulent U.S. presidential race, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is set to interview GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump on X tonight.

The interview could give Trump a chance to grab attention, especially since his campaign is perceived to be struggling.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, his Democrat rival, has been gaining ground. She has caught the public’s eye with energetic rallies and is closing the gap in opinion polls.

Musk’s platform might allow Trump to connect with a different audience beyond his usual conservative supporters who follow his rallies and Fox News interviews. However, past events on the platform have faced technical issues.

“Am going to do some system scaling tests tonight & tomorrow in advance of the conversation,” Musk wrote on X.

According to his campaign, the interview will be broadcast live on Trump’s official X account. Trump’s access to his account, @realDonaldTrump, was restored about a month after Musk took over X.

Furthermore, Trump often posts on Truth Social, a platform he launched in February 2022. Since his X account was reinstated, he has only posted once, in August 2023, to appeal for donations and share his Fulton County jail mug shot.

Musk, who might be an unexpected interviewer, supported Joe Biden in 2020 but has since shifted rightward. He endorsed Trump after an attempted assassination in July and even started a fundraising group for Trump’s campaign.

This political action committee is now under investigation in Michigan for potential state law violations related to voter information.

Trump, known for his criticism of electric vehicles, adjusted his stance after Musk’s endorsement. “I’m for electric cars. I have to be, because Elon endorsed me very strongly. So I have no choice,” Trump said at a rally in early August.

Additionally, the Biden-Harris administration has pushed electric vehicle adoption through tax breaks and other incentives as part of its climate change goals.

However, Republicans in Congress have opposed these subsidies, with Senator J.D. Vance, Trump’s vice presidential running mate, arguing that the policy mainly benefits wealthy buyers.

Musk has been involved in various controversies. He has wrongly accused Biden and the Democrat Party of opening U.S. borders to illegal aliens to increase Democrat voter numbers, even though non-citizens cannot vote in federal elections.

In November 2023, Musk endorsed an antisemitic post on X that claimed the Jewish community was inciting hatred against white people. Musk defended the post, saying it represented “the actual truth.”

This event is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (midnight Tuesday GMT).
