(GoRealNewsNow.com) – South Dakota Govеrnor Kristi Noem (R) criticized the New York hush-money casе against former President Donald Trump as “ridiculous” during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“It’s the way that Democrats are fighting these days using the judicial system and activist judges to do so,” Noem stated. “My hope is that the people and the jury will do what is right and hear the evidence and see clearly that this is an unprecedented trial, but it’s unprecedented in how ridiculous it is.”

As a strong supporter of the favorite GOP nominee, Noem also questioned why prosecutors waited until now to bring charges against Trump and suggеsted it was politically motivated.

Trump faces a lengthy courtroom battle in Manhattan after the hush money trial began last week.

She remarked, “[I] think it’s a little ridiculous that they’ve waited yеars to bring these types of charges against Donald Trump. You know, if they wanted to make these kinds of charges against him, they should have done it two years ago, when this happened.”

“To do it conveniently during a presidential election when he’s campaigning to return to the White House, I think, proves that this is all politically motivated,” she commented.

Noem’s statements echoed sentiments expressed by Trump and his allies, who argue that the case should have been initiated earlier if it was not politically motivated.

Aldo, there have been discussions about Noem potentially serving as Trump’s running mate as he seeks re-election.

The former president faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to reimbursements he made to his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, for a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged affair before the 2016 election.
