(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Known to his friends as Christopher Cheeks, Rapper Chris King was gunned down in Nashville, Tennessee when three as yet unidentified men shot him in cold blood during an armed robbery.
According to the Nashville Police Department, the shooting occurred while King was hanging out in an alley with his friends downtown. Three unknown men approached King’s group and attempted to rob them before the shooting.
“The (surviving) 29-year-old victim reported the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rob his group of friends,” police said. “It was then that he heard gunfire and realized he was struck.”
Unfortunately, the rapper died from severe injuries after being rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center while the police have not identified the only surviving person.
Moreover, officers are actively investigating the incident, stating that “homicide unit detectives are working strong, active leads.”
Following King’s tragic death, his celebrity friends took to social media to express their condolences.
Justin Bieber, who was once King’s roommate, shared on his Instagram Story, “Love you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother.”
King and Bieber lived together almost ten years ago, according to what the rapper revealed in a December post where he expressed his enduring love for his friend.
Other celebrities, including Trippie Redd and Keke Palmer, also paid tribute to King on social media, remembering him as a dear friend and expressing their grief over his untimely passing.
King, who kickstarted his career over a decade ago, was in Tennessee over the weekend to perform at the Nashville Cannafest.
