Captain Marvel Star Dead


( – Renowned actor Kenneth Mitchell, beloved for his role in “Star Trek: Discovery” and also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Captain Marvel,” has died at the age of 49.

The cause of death was due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a severe illness that affects muscle control. His family shared the news through his social media (see below), revealing the actor’s long fight with the disease.

Mitchell’s death happened last Saturday according to official reports.

The family’s message showed Mitchell’s courage and positive outlook stating “For five and a half years Ken faced a series of awful challenges from ALS. And in truest Ken fashion, he managed to rise above each one with grace and commitment to living a full and joyous life in each moment. He lived by the principles that each day is a gift and that we never walk alone.”

Born in Toronto in 1974 Mitchell became well-known for portraying several Klingon characters in “Star Trek: Discovery” showing his versatility and passion for acting.

Despite his diagnosis he continued to perform, notably playing Aurellio, a role that accommodated his use of a wheelchair. His voice also brought characters to life in an episode of “Star Trek: Lower Decks” in 2020.

Mitchell’s career was rich and varied. He starred as Eric Green in “Jericho” from 2006 to 2008 and appeared in “Ghost Whisperer,” “Switched at Birth,” and “Nancy Drew.” His film career included roles in “The Recruit” and “Miracle” culminating in his part in “Captain Marvel” as Carol Danvers’ father.

The obituary shared by his family painted a picture of a man who was much more than his career saying “Kenny was the keeper of countless enduring friendships. Like a massive star exploding with kindness, purity, and a particular brand of silly, you were pulled right into his orbit. Once captured, Kenny could bathe you in positivity, compassion, thoughtfulness, and hilarity, and make you feel so loved.”

Kenneth Mitchell leaves behind his wife Susan, their children Lilah and Kallum, and his parents.
