(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Hollywood star Bruce Willis, who is battling dementia, “is doing very well,” according to an announcement by his former wife, close friend, and fellow actor Demi Moore.
Moore spoke about Willis’s condition during an appearance on the ABC News program “Good Morning America.
“I think, given the givens, he’s doing very well,” said The “Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans” star, as cited by Fox News.
“What I’ll say is what I say to my children, which is it’s important to just meet them where they’re at and not hold onto what isn’t. Because there’s great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that,” she added.
The report points out that Willis and Moore have stayed close personal friends after their divorce in 2000, following 13 years of marriage.
They have frequently come together to support Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, their three daughters.
Moore has stood by the side of the “Die Hard” star during his battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
The disease was announced by his family last year. Prior to that, in 2022, Willis announced he had been diagnosed with aphasia, leading him to retire from acting.
In another recent media appearance, Moore told the families of dementia patients to simply “let go.”
“What message do you have for people out there who have family members who have dementia?” the actress was asked on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show.
“When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present. Take in the joy… the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they’re not,” the actress explained.
Willis’s family continues to make social media posts about special moments with him during his dementia battle.
In December, Bruce Willis and his wife, Emma Heming, celebrated over a decade of being together.
“16 years with this special man. My love and adoration for him only grows,” Heming posted on Instagram, sharing photos of them embracing and kissing.
She and Willis married in 2009 but renewed their vows in 2019 with a celebration with his children and former wife, Demi Moore.
