(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a puzzling and unsolved mystery, an American woman vanished in paradise while on a yoga retreat in the Bahamas.

According to a missing person bulletin from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, 41-year-old Taylor Casey from Chicago was last seen last week around Paradise Island near Nassau, a city known for crime.

Casey had traveled to the Bahamas for the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat before she went missing, her family said in a press release, fearing for her safety.

“We are deeply concerned for Taylor’s safety and well-being,” said Casey’s mother, Colette Seymore. “We love Taylor and want her home.”

She continued, “I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return.”

“Taylor would never disappear like this,” Seymore added, urging anyone with information to come forward, “her mom added.

According to CBS News, the retreat center noted that Casey did not attend morning classes on Thursday after she was last seen the previous evening.

“The Ashram is asking anyone with information on Ms. Casey to contact the local police,” the retreat center commented.

As per updates on Facebook, Casey’s family plans to travel to the Bahamas this week to assist in the search.

Moreover, loved ones described Casey as an “intelligent, deeply caring, thoughtful, and joyful person” who has practiced yoga for 15 years.

The disappearance of this American tourist coincided with a U.S. State Department warning earlier this year for travelers to exercise caution in the Bahamas, including Nassau, due to reported crime.

“Violent crime, such as burglaries, armed robberies, and sexual assaults, occur in both tourist and non-tourist areas,” the State Department advisory cautioned.
