(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Edging out Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris, a recent poll showed that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is now leading in the key state of Michigan.

A WDIV/Detroit News poll conducted from August 26 to August 29 found that 44.7% of “likely voters” in Michigan backed Trump, while 43.5% were in favor of Harris.

Michigan voters tend to think Trump would do a better job handling the U.S. economy, foreign affairs and the southern border. They said Harris would do a better job strengthening American democracy and is someone they can trust more.

The poll also revealed that 4.7% of voters supported former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 2.3% favored a third-party candidate, and 4.8% were undecided.

Among 91% of “definite voters,” 45.7% supported Harris, while 44.1% backed Trump.

Additionally, 3.9% supported Kennedy, 2.3% supported a third-party candidate, and 3.9% were still undecided.

This follows a previous ActiVote poll conducted between July 28 and August 28, 2024, which found that 50.1% of “likely” voters supported Harris, while 49.9% supported Trump.

Similarly, an AARP poll, conducted from August 7 to August 8, 2024, showed Trump leading Harris in Michigan, 45% to 43%, with Kennedy at 6%.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent left-wing candidate Cornel West each had 1%.

Furthermore, a recent Reuters/Ipsos survey also indicated that Trump was ahead of Harris in seven battleground states, including Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, and Nevada.

In those “seven states where the 2020 election was closest,” the survey found that Trump held a 45% to 43% lead over Harris.
