(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Following the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend, King Charles III sent him a private letter.

According to the New York Post, the king reached out to Trump after the assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The 75-year-old British monarch conveyed his message through the UK’s embassy in Washington, D.C., as confirmed by Buckingham Palace. Yet, the contents of the letter have not been disclosed.

Some sources mentioned that Charles’ letter’s tone echoed sentiments expressed by Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who publicly condemned the violence.

Starmer expressed his dismay at the events and extended his best wishes to Trump and his family in a social media post.

“I am appalled by the shocking scenes at President Trump’s rally and we send him and his family our best wishes,” Starmer wrote on Twitter.

He continued, “[P]olitical violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack.”

Additionally, the attack took place while the GOP candidate was addressing the crowd at the Butler Farm Show grounds. He narrowly escaped more serious injury when a bullet grazed his ear.

The assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was positioned approximately 130 yards away from Trump and was later neutralized by the Secret Service.

The violent act also claimed the life of Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old former firefighter, and injured two others, 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver.
