(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Following the recent murder of two innocent people, law enforcement officials in Utah have located a transgender individual who they believe is responsible for the gruesome act and shares the same last name as the suspect.

The search for 28-year-old Collin Troy Bailey began earlier this week after reports of shots fired in a Washington County neighborhood where officers found a man and a woman fatally shot.

Bailey, identified as the sole suspect, is described by police as a “transgender male transitioning to a female and [who] currently goes by the name of Mia Bailey.”

Authorities noted Bailey wears “wigs and is known to change hairstyles frequently.”

As captured in video footage of the arrest, Bailey was apprehended hiding in a field of weeds and arrested without incident,

While the victims’ identities have not been disclosed, it was reported the home where the murders occurred was listed as Bailey’s residence, along with others, including “69-year-old Gail Bailey and her 70-year-old husband Joseph, who appear to be Bailey’s parents.”

Gail’s brother took to social media to confirm that the pair’s killer was their child. “My sister Gail and her husband Blue Bailey were shot dead tonight. I’m numb,” he wrote in a post.

“Their own son killed them. My poor mother has lost 3 of her 5 children. You always think it only happens to someone else. Give your brother or sister a call. Stay in touch,” he added.

Washington City Police Department (WCPD) Lieutenant Kory Klotz stated Bailey was found with a firearm, which he placed on the ground before being arrested. Law enforcement later recovered the weapon.

“We have some good news,” said Officer Tiffany Mitchell of the St. George Police Department. “We have the suspect in custody. Everyone is safe. No one else was injured.”
