TRAGEDY: ‘Dry Drowning’

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – New details about the Bayesian superyacht tragedy have revealed that four of the seven victims died from “dry drowning,” as they were trapped alive inside the ship’s cabins when it sank off the coast of Sicily last month.

According to the Italian outlet la Repubblica, the victims, New York City lawyer Chris Morvillo, his wife Neda, Morgan Stanley Bank International chair Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy, all died of “dry drowning.”

Tests conducted over the past two days revealed that none of the four had water in their lungs, trachea, or stomach, indicating they did not drown in seawater after the yacht began sinking during a storm on August 19.

Moreover, pathologists at the Palermo Institute of Forensic Medicine concluded that the victims died from asphyxiation when the air bubble they were trapped in ran out of oxygen and became toxic with carbon dioxide. They classified the cause of death as “death by confinement.”

The bodies of the Morvillos and the Bloomers, along with British tech billionaire Mike Lynch, who owned the yacht, were found in the same cabin room on the left side of the $40 million yacht. Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter Hannah was found in the adjacent room, also on the left side of the ship.

In addition, the yacht had sunk to the ocean floor and was tilted on its right side. This suggested that the victims were likely still conscious when they went into the cabins, hoping to find air pockets.

However, these pockets quickly turned toxic as they used up the remaining oxygen and exhaled carbon dioxide.

Angela Bacares, Lynch’s wife and Hannah’s mother, survived the wreck. She reportedly tried to alert those below deck but was injured by broken glass and could not reach the cabins as they filled with water.

Furthermore, more tests are needed to confirm that the four victims died from “dry drowning.”

Even though the cause of the ship’s sinking is still under investigation, the stormy weather is considered a possible factor.

Three Bayesian crew members, including Captain James Cutfield, are being investigated for suspected negligent manslaughter and causing the shipwreck.
