(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a heartbreaking tragedy, an adventurous real estate agent died but her dog miraculously survived after the car they were in took a 1,000-foot plunge off a steep mountainside in Arizona.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Kristin Little was driving on the Thumb Butte Loop Road around 5 p.m. when her vehicle went off the cliff. She was ejected halfway down the steep drop.

The sheriff’s office reported that sheriff’s deputies found her car at the bottom of the embankment and hiked down to reach her body.

Due to the rugged terrain and the setting sun, authorities postponed retrieving Little’s body until the next morning. However, deputies stayed with her throughout the night.

While the woman did not survive, her dog, CJ, who was in the car with her, somehow emerged unharmed. Deputies brought CJ to Little’s parents’ home.

Her mother, Jinger Cutting, said, “When Krissy rolled her car, CJ must’ve bounced out, and when the rescuers got to the location, they found CJ next to Krissy’s body.”

Cutting, heartbroken, called her daughter “the light of my life.”

Little, based in Prescott, was a real estate agent who had a deep love for the outdoors.

“She and I hiked all the time, all the time,” her mother added.

“We would take off, and we would meet at my office or somewhere downtown, and we would just go hiking out on Thumb Butte, or we’d go hiking somewhere around the lakes,” the heartbroken mother continued.

While Little’s body was taken to the medical examiner over the weekend, the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
