(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a major operation, police in Miami-Dade County arrested a public school psychologist for multiple counts of possession and distribution of child pornography.

According to a press release from the police department, the arrest followed a hint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

The hint claimed that 62-year-old Dr. Robert Lee Turner had uploaded child sexual abuse material to an online platform.

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) led the investigation and uncovered that Turner allegedly shared two videos showing explicit sexual acts involving minors with more than 50 users online.

During a raid at Turner’s home, he tried to escape by locking himself in the bathroom, but police managed to arrest him.

The psychologist faces charges of multiple counts of child pornography and resisting arrest.

According to a local news outlet, Turner’s bail was set at $28,000 in court on Tuesday, and he was placed on house arrest with a GPS monitor.

Moreover, the tip from NCMEC sent through Instagram indicated that one video showed two naked children, about 10 to 12 years old, in sexual acts.

Another video reportedly showed four naked boys, ages 8 to 12, with two engaged in sexual activity while the other two were sleeping.

In turn, Miami-Dade County Public Schools announced in a statement that Turner had been terminated. “Miami-Dade County Public Schools is deeply troubled by the disturbing allegations made against this individual.”

The statement continued, “This type of behavior will not be tolerated. As such, the individual’s employment with the District has been terminated and he will be precluded from seeking future employment with M-DCPS.”

The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities continue to examine evidence related to Turner’s alleged crimes.
