(GoRealNewsNow.com) – New details about the Georgia school shooting are coming to light, as the shooter who killed two students and two teachers yesterday tried to re-enter his algebra class but was turned away after a classmate apparently noticed he had a gun.

Junior Lyela Sayarath stated that Colt Gray, the suspected killer, whom she sat next to in math class, left at the beginning of the period, only to return near the end.

Sayarath said that someone over the loudspeaker told her teacher to check her email, and moments later, 14-year-old Gray was at the door, wanting to get back into the classroom.

Since the doors automatically lock when closed, someone inside has to let him in.

“They almost let him in, but I’m pretty sure she saw that he had a gun and so she backed away,” Sayarath assured. “And then he turned away, and that’s when you hear like the first round of fire.”

While Gray allegedly moved to another classroom and opened fire, Sayarath and her classmates heard the shots, and everyone dropped to the floor and huddled together.

“The teacher turned off the lights, but we all just kind of piled together. And like I pushed desks in front of us,” she recalled.

Moreover, Sayarath described Gray as “pretty quiet” and noted that he often skipped class. ”Even when he would’ve talked, it was one-word answers or short statements,” she said.

“Just because when you think of like shooters and how they act or things that they do, it’s usually the quiet kid or that’s a stereotype for it to be, and he was the one that fit that description in our class,” she added.

In addition, Gray was apprehended just minutes after he allegedly began the mass shooting, which claimed four lives and injured nine others at the high school about an hour from Atlanta.

Law enforcement officials said during a press conference that he used an AR-15 rifle during the horrifying attack.
