(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Democrats are getting desperate in their attempt to remain in the White House, as Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy asserted that former President Barack Obama and his team are taking over the strings behind Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.
“If you’re watching the campaign now, some of Obama’s [key people such as] David Plouffe and others are now working on the campaign,” McCarthy said on 770 WABC’s “The Cats Roundtable.” “You’re getting the Obamas shifting from running the White House to now running this campaign.”
Several of Obama’s former top advisers have taken significant roles with Team Harris. Eric Holder, Obama’s attorney general, assisted in the vetting process for Harris’ vice-presidential running mate selection.
Harris has also brought on board David Plouffe, who managed Obama’s 2008 campaign and later became one of his top White House advisers, as a senior campaign aide.
In addition, Stephanie Cutter, who served as deputy campaign manager for Obama’s 2012 re-election, is now Harris’ senior adviser for strategy messaging. The ad-making firm of Jim Margolis, who worked on Harris’ 2020 campaign, is also expected to join Team Harris, as reported by Politico.
Furthermore, Harris appointed veteran Democratic adviser Jennifer Palmieri as a senior adviser to her husband, Doug Emhoff. Palmieri was the White House communications director under Obama and held the same role for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Despite these connections, a former top Obama adviser dismissed the assertion that he was directing Harris’ campaign. It is common for experienced Democrat campaign strategists to work for multiple candidates running for the White House.
In an interview with host John Catsimatidis, McCarthy labeled Harris a “San Francisco liberal” and criticized her choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
“This is by far … the most liberal ticket in the history of American politics. … We do not want to put San Francisco and Minnesota across this country,” he stated.
He argued that bypassing Jewish Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro for the VP slot was a mistake.
“Why would [Harris] skip Shapiro in picking a VP? Is she not going to stand up to her own party when they want to attack Israel? She wasn’t there when the prime minister of Israel came to speak to Congress. That’s her role and responsibility as president of the Senate,” he remarked.
