(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In bombshell news, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently declared that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have killed or wounded 60% of Hamas’ combatants since the Gaza conflict began on October 7.

Addressing the Knesset in Jerusalem, Gallant disclosed that the IDF had disrupted most of the Al-Qassam Brigades’ 24 battalions spread across Gaza, Hamas’s military wing.

“The action of the IDF that has so far led to the elimination of over 14,000 terrorists and the collapse of the military frameworks of Hamas is, in fact, the testimony of what I am saying—everything will be done in accordance with the law and in accordance with the operational need,” Gallant stated.

Israel’s air force initiated strikes on Hamas targets immediately after the group launched a violent incursion into the northwestern Negev on October 7, resulting in casualties and kidnappings. Ground troops entered Gaza on October 27 and continued active operations.

Moreover, the War Cabinet set the war’s initial objectives and remained unchanged: dismantle Hamas militarily and politically in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and ensure Gaza can no longer threaten Israel.

Speaking to Knesset members, Gallant emphasized the crucial role of maintaining international legitimacy in averting a humanitarian crisis and ongoing military actions in Gaza. He cited the recent decision to restore electricity solely to a Gaza desalination plant as an example of Israel’s humanitarian efforts.

“We allowed the electricity connection to the desalination plant only. Water pollution and as a result the potential for disease outbreaks will endanger our forces, the execution of the missions and the abductees,” Gallant affirmed.

In turn, the IDF reported the death of an Israeli soldier, Sargeant First Class Tal Lahat, from the Maglan commando unit in Kfar Saba, during combat in central Gaza this week.

According to official military figures, since the ground incursion into Gaza on October 27, 325 Israeli troops have died, and since the October 7 Hamas-led assault, 681 on all fronts.

Meanwhile, the IDF continues its offensive against Hamas in Gaza City and throughout the enclave. Operations also targeted Hamas in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood, where troops neutralized dozens of terrorists and dismantled underground tunnel networks.

In Rafah, Israeli forces have been clearing out Hamas fighters, resulting in numerous casualties, the discovery of weapons, and the dismantling of terrorist infrastructure.
