(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Being famous has its perks but it also brings misfortune, as Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hollywood superstar Michael Madsen on domestic violence charges after an incident with his wife.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Madsen was arrested just after midnight, facing a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

According to police, the actor allegedly pushed his wife during an argument and then locked her out of their Los Angeles-area home.

While the details of the dispute are unclear, it is unknown what led to this intense altercation.

Police were also called to the scene, but it is also uncertain who made the call.

When officers arrived, they found Madsen’s wife with a security team.

Moreover, TMZ reported that law enforcement spoke with both parties to understand the situation.

After assessing what happened, authorities decided there was enough cause for an arrest and took Madsen into custody.

The Hollywood actor was taken to a local jail, where he was processed and held.

In addition, sources close to the situation said that Madsen’s wife was offered medical attention but declined.

The actor was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.

A representative for Madsen issued a brief statement, saying, “It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife which we hope resolves positively for them both.”

Michael Madsen is well-known for his roles in films like “Kill Bill,” “Reservoir Dogs,” “The Hateful Eight,” and “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.”

During his career, the famous star also starred in the Free Willy film franchise as Glen Greenwood, the adoptive father of protagonist Jesse Greenwood – played by Jason James Richter in the first three films from 1993 until 1997.

He has also appeared in Thelma & Louise, Sin City, Donnie Brasco, and the James Bond film Die Another Day.
