(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING NEWS: After Joe Biden recently announced that he has dropped his 2024 re-election campaign, it has been revealed he has doubts about whether Kamala Harris could beat former President Donald Trump.
A source reported that the 81-year-old Democrat and his top advisers wonder if Harris is up to the task of facing Trump before his bombshell announcement.
Still, Biden ended up endorsing 59-year-old Harris when he announced on Sunday he was stepping aside. This came weeks after his disastrous debate against Trump threw his campaign into chaos.
Moreover, sources said Biden and Harris had several phone calls in the hours before the big announcement.
One source told CNN that Harris spent more than 10 hours making frantic calls to over 100 Democratic Party leaders, politicians, and donors to rally support.
In addition, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were among the many calls she made.
While Bill and Hillary Clinton quickly backed Harris, Obama did not immediately endorse her. He said Democrats would choose an unnamed “outstanding nominee.”
“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Obama said. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”
Just minutes after Biden endorsed Harris, the VP posted on X that she was “honored” to have his vote of confidence and her “intention is to earn and win this nomination.”
Additionally, the Democratic National Committee is expected to host a virtual vote on the presidential nomination in early August to meet an Ohio ballot access deadline on Aug. 7.
