(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Republican US Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, who remains a mystery to millions of Americans, officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign, declaring that the United States is “not a racist country.”

Scott, the only black Republican member of the US Congress, delivered an address on Monday before a crowd of 2,000 at Charleston Southern University in his hometown of North Charleston, South Carolina, The Washington Times reports.
“For those who wonder if it is possible for a broken kid, in a broken home, to rise beyond their circumstances, the answer is yes,” the black conservative declared, as cited by Newsmax.
“For those of you who wonder if America is a racist country, take a look at how people come together. All of God’s people come together—black ones and white ones, the red ones and brown ones, working together. Because love, unconditional love, binds hearts together,” Scott elaborated.
“We are not defined by the color of our skin. We are defined by the content of our character. And if anyone tells you anything different, they’re lying,” the senator added, paraphrasing Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
He denounced critical race theory, a Marxist racial ideology that the radical left in the Democratic Party has pushed.
“I will be the president who destroys the liberal line that America is an evil country. We need to stop canceling our Founding Fathers and start celebrating them for the geniuses that they were. They weren’t perfect, but they believed we could become a more perfect union,” Scott insisted.
In his address, he slammed President Joe Biden for turning America into a county “in retreat.”
“Joe Biden and the radical Left are attacking every rung of the ladder that helped me climb. That is why I am announcing today that I am running for president of the United States of America!” he exclaimed.
The Times notes that Scott’s announcement began “awkwardly” since his voice broke during his introduction, and audio problems caused interruptions and “Let’s Go” chants.
“Our nation, our values, and our people are strong. But our president is weak. America is not a nation in decline. But under Joe Biden, we have become a nation in retreat,” the senator argued.
“Retreating from our heritage and our history. Retreating from personal responsibility and hard work. Retreating from strength and security. Even retreating from religious liberty and the worship of God himself,” he declared further.
According to the report, Scott’s attack on “grievance” politics was directed at the Republican nomination frontrunner, former President Donald Trump.
“This is the freest and fairest land. Where you and I can go, as high as our character, our grit, and our talent will take us. I bear witness to that. I testify to that. That’s why I’m the candidate the far Left fears the most,” the South Carolina Republican said.
“When I cut your taxes, they called me a prop. When I refunded the police, they called me a token. When I pushed back on President Biden, they even called me the N-word. I disrupt their narrative. I threaten their control. The truth of my life disproves their lies,” he added.
