(GoRealNewsNow.com) – The office of Republican US Senator Rand Paul in Bowling Green, Kentucky, sustained substantial damage as a result of a fire engulfing the building that houses it, according to local media.

Paul, the outspoken junior US Senate member from Kentucky, has been in office since 2011 and won reelection for a third six-year term in last November’s election.
The fire in the commercial building hosting the GOP senator’s office in Bowling Green, a city of some 70,000 people with a more than twice larger metropolitan area, erupted early last Friday.
The local authorities responded to the fire in the building on State Street around 1:45 a.m. on July 21, according to The Bowling Green Daily News, as cited by The Daily Caller.
The commercial venue, which has been “severely damaged” by the blaze, includes the Republican senator’s local office and the law office of Kerrick Bachert, and Dezign Tees.
A spokeswoman of the Bowling Green Fire Department informed the public that the building’s roof “caved in,” with the fire causing “serious structural damage” to the entire structure.
She also revealed that the thirty-one firefighters who responded to the calamity saw themselves forced to cut down tree limbs to be able to access the building’s second flood.
The spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
Social media videos showed firefighters fought the blaze for at least seven hours until 8:30 a.m. last Friday.
“We are thankful for the Bowling Green first responders who arrived quickly to the scene to put out the fire and are continuing to work with authorities to assess damages and to determine a cause,” Senator Rand Paul declared in a statement.
“We have a very well-established emergency management plan and have the ability to continue operations that will not impact our work helping Kentuckians,” he added regarding the Bowling Green fire.
Among other vital issues and policy matters, Paul, a medical doctor by training, has been especially active in exposing former White House Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci and the National Institutes of Health’s funding for alleged gain-of-function research in China’s Wuhan, which may have led to start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
