Astonishingly, six people managed to escape the sinking bus.

Moreover, Russia’s primary criminal investigations agency, The Investigative Committee, stated that the six people rescued from the bus were in critical condition.

Surveillance footage circulated by Russian media captured the bus speeding, making a sharp turn onto the bridge, colliding with another vehicle, and eventually crashing through the barrier into the water.

In turn, authorities in St. Petersburg disclosed that the bus owner had amassed 23 fines for various violations, and most of the city’s bus services are operated by private companies.

Shortly after the incident, the police arrested the bus driver.

His wife informed Russian media that he was compelled by managers to work the morning shift following a 20-hour workday with minimal rest.

An investigation has been initiated to probe potential traffic violations and address concerns about transportation safety.
