TV Reality Star Murdered

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – A week after being brutally murdered, TV reality “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Eduardo Xol died at the age of 58 due to his critical injuries.

According to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Xol passed away at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California.

TMZ first reported the news, saying Xol was found with “significant injuries” after calling the police for help. He was discovered in an apartment in Palm Springs and was initially in “serious but stable condition” when taken to the hospital.

Richard Joseph Gonzales, a 34-year-old man from Cathedral City, California, has been arrested in connection to the incident, facing suspicion of attempted murder.

Gonzales called the police the day Xol was found, claiming he had been assaulted the previous night. Once police identified him as a suspect, he was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, California, and is now facing murder charges.

Xol’s family expressed their grief in a statement, “We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. As his family, we know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many.”

The late TV star joined ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” in Season 2, which aired in 2004, and he stayed with the show until its eighth season in 2011.

Beyond television, Xol was also a singer and actor. According to IMDb, he appeared in several Televisa telenovelas during the 1990s, such as “Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma,” “Sentimientos Ajenos,” and “La Jaula de Oro.”

His friend Richard Pérez-Fería shared a heartfelt tribute to Xol on Instagram on September 22.

“It’s nearly incomprehensible that I’m writing this post as a goodbye to someone who has been so present, so important in my life,” wrote Pérez-Fería.

He added, “When I first learned that Eduardo Xol had passed, I went numb. It was impossible to process that information as it didn’t square with my thousands of experiences with him.”

Pérez-Fería continued, “Please don’t ask me how or why at this point…what matters most is who he was: A talented, beautiful, passionate friend, brother, son, and partner.

He ended the post with, “Sending healing love at this horrific time to his circle of friends and family who loved him so. Sadly, tomorrow isn’t promised.”
