(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 290 fight causing the audience to “go wild.”
TV reports and social media videos of the event showed huge cheers as Trump showed up and sat ringside at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Breitbart News reports.
The event staff put the 45th President of the United States on the big screen as he walked alongside UFC president and mixed martial arts expert Dana White.
At the event’s start, Trump unexpectedly came out of the tunnel at ground level accompanied by White and “a pack of Secret Service agents,” Fox News reports.
While making his way to the octagon, the former president stopped numerous times to shake hands and talk with fans and celebrities.
According to Fox, Trump’s arrival was “a total shock to everyone in the building, including the broadcasters of the event.”
It notes that the former president is a well-known UFC fan and has been good friends with White, who gave a speech to support him during the 2020 Republican National Convention.
Trump received one of the best seats by the octagon. In between the fights, he was taking pictures with those around him.
Commentator Joe Rogan also met up with him during a pause in his broadcasting duties.
One of the UFC fighters, Dricus Du Plessis of South Africa, even jump over the cage to shake hands with Trump and White. Du Plessis did so after defeating Robert Whittaker in the middleweight division.
The report points out that Trump and all other UFC fans saw a “great main card” in which Alexander Volkanovski retained his featherweight division belt after winning over Yair Rodriguez in the main event and moved his overall record to 26-2.
In another “amazing” fight, Alexandre Pantoja beat Brandon Moreno, dethroning him as a flyweight champion.
Saturday night’s UFC event in Las Vegas was not the first one former President Donald Trump attended as he frequented those, including UFC 244 during his White House term.
Trump has also been seen next to Kid Rock and former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson at UFC 287.
