(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Donald Trump’s presidential campaign attacked the campaign of his closest rival for the 2024 GOP nomination, Ron DeSantis, by accusing it of “colluding” with President Joe Biden and his “weaponized” Justice Department.
“Unholy Alliance: DeSantis Campaign Colluding with Biden’s Weaponized DOJ to Stop President Trump and the MAGA Movement,” reads the headline of an email blast the Trump campaign sent out on Tuesday.
The message claimed that Florida governor Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, which began in May, had been “doomed” from the start.
“Beginning with a total failure to launch, Ron DeSantis has warmly embraced establishment RINOs and Never Trumpers. Despite millions of dollars spent to promote his candidacy, Ron finds a way to fall to new all-time lows with every coming poll,” the Trump campaign said.
“When Ron DeSanctimonious was most recently summoned before donors to explain his flailing campaign, his top lieutenants admitted to lighting donor money on fire. Though, even more telling, a top DeSantis fundraiser confessed that their ‘strategy’ relied on endless political prosecutions of President Trump by radical Leftist prosecutors,” the email alleged.
The message referred to an NBC report about a large-scale DeSantis campaign reboot, with one of his fundraisers saying there was a “possibility” that more legal trouble for Trump could cause him to give up on his presidential ambitions, The Daily Caller notes.
The 45th president of the United States faces dozens of charges in two indictments – one by the Biden Justice Department over his alleged mishandling of classified government documents and another by Manhattan’s far-left Democrat DA over allegedly bribing a porn actress to cover up an affair.
“As the DeSantis campaign continues to utterly collapse, Ron has shown he’s willing to take the side of deranged, Marxist prosecutors and the radical Left for any shot at stopping the nose dive that has left him in third place, heading only south,” the Trump campaign email declared.
Its message claiming collaboration between Florida’s governor and the Biden administration DOJ comes against the backdrop of the DeSantis campaign’s decision to ax about a third of its staffers.
According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, Trump is supported by nearly 52% of Republican voters for the 2024 party nomination, while DeSantis is second with only 18%.
