TRAGEDY: Teen Ballerina Killed

( – In a deadly tragedy, a 15-year-old ballerina of Miami City Ballet was killed in a hit-and-run boat crash while water skiing in Miami.

Authorities confirmed that Ella Riley Adler was a student at Ransom Everglades School.

While the victim was enjoying a friend’s birthday at Key Biscayne’s Nixon Beach, a boat struck her and fled the scene. Later was found in the water with severe injuries.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is investigating the incident and is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, along with an additional $5,000 from Miami Crime Stoppers.

According to FWC, Ella was wearing her life vest and skis when she was hit by a boat, which was described as light blue with a darker blue bottom.

Moreover, witnesses reported that the boat’s center console struck Ella without slowing down or swerving.

The tragic event has deeply affected Ella’s family and community, especially the Miami City Ballet School, where Ella was a cherished student and performer.

The company said in a statement, “Miami City Ballet School are utterly devastated by the heartbreaking news of this tragic accident.”

“Ella Adler was not just a beloved student and a magnificent dancer who graced our stage in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker; she was an integral part of our family…” it added.

Likewise, Ella’s funeral service was held at Temple Beth Shalom synagogue, where mourners remembered her talent, warmth, and kindness.

The late ballerina was also celebrated for her involvement in the Ransom Everglades Jewish Students Association and her family’s history as Holocaust survivors.

Head of School at Ransom Everglades Rachel Rodriguez described Ella as an exemplary student who embodied the school’s values. The community mourns her loss deeply.

“Our hearts are broken and our community has been devastated by this tragedy. Ella shined in our classrooms and on our stages, and she embodied the mission of Ransom Everglades School,” Rodriguez said in a statement.
