(GoRealNewsNow.com) – The “Texas mall shooter,” 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia, who recently committed mass murder and was killed by a policeman, left a bizarre message on his cellphone voicemail, a report has revealed.
On Saturday, Garcia shot dead eight people and wounded seven others in a shooting attack at the Allen Premium Outlets, a shopping mall in Allen, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.
The gunman was prevented from causing more death when he was shot and killed by a police officer on an unrelated assignment.
In the weird voicemail message that Garcia left on his cell phone, he tells his cell phone service provider that he paid his bill, asks his parents for money, and tells female callers he has “plenty of money,” The New York Post reports, pointing out that the shooter was apparently “obsess[ed] with money.”
“Hi, this is Mauricio. If you’re the phone company, I sent you the money, or if you’re my parents, please send money,” the Texas mall killer says, as cited by Fox News which obtained his phone records.
“If you are my financial aid institution, you didn’t lend me enough money, if you are a friend, you owe me money. And if you are a female, don’t worry, I have plenty of money,” the gunman added.
It is unknown when exactly he made the recording, but the phone number listed in his records goes directly to the bizarre voicemail message.
The message has been revealed against the backdrop of reports that Mauricio Garcia was expelled from the US Army after serving for only three months “due to mental health concerns.”
The information was revealed by several law enforcement sources familiar with the mass shooting investigation who spoke with ABC News.
The sources also said the investigators were investigating whether the Allen Mall attack wasn’t an act of domestic terrorism.
Garcia’s social media profiles “spouted white supremacist views,” and the investigation is checking whether he “held neo-Nazi beliefs,” the Post informs.
During his mass shooting attack with an AR-15 rifle at the Allen Premium Outlets, Garcia wore a patch with the inscription “RWDS,” which is believed to stand for “Right Wing Death Squad.”
The latter is described as “a popular phrase among white supremacy groups,” according to a law enforcement source quoted by the Associated Press.
According to reports, the gunman had no criminal record and lived with his parents even though he had recently booked an “extended” stay at a hotel near the shopping mall he attacked.
Six of Garcia’s victims died at the scene, while two more passed away in hospital.
