Surprise Move Spells Trouble for Trump

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a surprise move that spells more trouble for former President Donald Trump, Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, will present evidence of hush money payments made by Trump to adult film actor and producer Stormy Daniels (also known as Stephanie Clifford) to a grand jury, according to a New York Times report.

The move revives an investigation that seemed to be losing steam and raises the threat of criminal charges, adding to Trump’s already numerous legal challenges.

This news comes just two days after Trump hit the campaign trail for the 2024 presidential election, giving speeches in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Daniels claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006, a claim that he denies.

The $130,000 payment to Daniels was made by Michael Cohen, Trump’s fixer, in 2016 and was later reimbursed by the then-president.

Cohen later pleaded guilty to federal campaign finance violations and claimed the payment was made “at the direction of” Trump.

Prosecutors have also tried to interview former employees of the National Enquirer, Trump’s company, and his 2016 election campaign, as well as subpoenaing phone records and other relevant documents.

The investigations into Trump include one in Georgia regarding his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state, as well as justice department special counsel investigations over classified documents seized from his Florida estate and his efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results.

The New York attorney general is also suing Trump and his company, alleging it misled banks and tax authorities to get loans and tax benefits.

In December, the Trump Organization was convicted of tax fraud for helping executives avoid taxes on lavish perks and was fined $1.6 million. The former president’s former chief financial officer was also given a jail sentence.

Stormy Daniels is about to start hosting a gay dating TV show and recently reflected on her experience as a standup comedian, saying, “It was the most terrifying experience of my life, and that’s saying something because I’ve seen Trump naked.”
