School Shooter Killed in Nick of Time

( – According to a statement from school officials, police in Wisconsin fatally shot and killed an armed teenager outside a middle school before he started the shooting he was planning to do.

The Mount Horeb Area School District reported that the attacker did not breach the entryway of Mount Horeb Middle School, and they confirmed no harm to anyone except the alleged shooter.

The statement said, “The threat has been neutralized outside of the building. Law enforcement is circulating throughout the middle school to confirm the safety of all students.”

Reports from a local ABC affiliate identified the suspect as a 14-year-old who approached the school with what seemed to be a long gun while bomb experts were examining the suspect’s car to check for explosives.

Josh Kaul, state attorney general, confirmed that the boy attended the abovementioned school.

“For a period of time today there was concern that there was an ongoing threat related to this incident. We currently believe that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. But again, this is an ongoing investigation, and we will update the public if any additional threat to safety is discovered,” Kaul said.

Mount Horeb Village president Ryan Czyzewski and Mount Horeb Chamber Board chair Kara Brandemuehl stated, “Due to safety precautions taken by our Schools, the shooter was never able to enter the building.”

Likewise, they praised the collaborative efforts of first responders and the School District, highlighting their professionalism and dedication.

Governor Tony Evers expressed gratitude for the swift response of first responders and assured support for students, educators, staff, and their families in coping with the unsettling incident.

He pledged state assistance as more details emerge and responders continue their vital work.
