(GoRealNewsNow.com) – The liberal agenda’s push for electric vehicles and green energy is threatening to plunge America into darkness.
A shocking report reveals that over half of North America faces a serious risk of power blackouts in the coming years.
This is thanks to the retirement of reliable power plants and the slow addition of unreliable renewable energy sources.
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) has warned that the United States’ power grid is in grave danger.
“Accelerated retirements of the existing coal, natural gas, and nuclear generators can have a profound and negative effect on the resource adequacy and reliability of the [bulk power system] in the next 10 years,” NERC stated.
As demand for electricity skyrockets due to AI development, electric vehicles and modern heating solutions, the grid is buckling under the pressure.
Meanwhile, Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency continues to push regulations that could speed up the retirement of vital coal fleets, further weakening America’s energy independence.
NERC’s warnings paint a grim picture of the nation’s energy future. The corporation forecast a staggering 15% increase in peak summer demand and an 18% jump in peak winter demand.
This surge in consumption and the forced closure of reliable power plants is a recipe for disaster that could leave millions of Americans in the dark.
“The trends point to critical reliability challenges facing the industry: satisfying escalating energy growth, managing generator retirements, and accelerating resource and transmission development,” NERC cautioned in their report.
The situation is particularly dire in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region, which faces a high risk of energy shortfalls starting as soon as 2025.
🧵Urgent warning from @NERC_Official today: most of the North American electricity grid is at high or elevated risk of shortages in the next 5 years. Blackouts & brownouts represent a failure of the grid just when we need it the most — often during extreme weather. (1/5) pic.twitter.com/PGplVMApEc

Other regions, including California, Texas and parts of the Southeast, are also on the brink of electricity shortages.
Mark C. Christie of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a stark warning about the potential electricity supply crisis looming on the horizon.
The liberal obsession with unreliable solar and wind power is worsening the problem.
These weather-dependent energy sources simply cannot keep up with America’s growing energy needs.
Natural gas-fired generators, crucial for providing flexible electricity, are being phased out without adequate replacements.
This reckless approach to energy policy is gambling with the stability of the power grid and the safety of American citizens.
PJM, the largest grid operator in the U.S., projects a staggering loss of 40 gigawatts of generation capacity by the end of the decade due to the early retirement of power units.
