‘NYPD Blue’ Star Arrested – Charges Revealed!

Metal handcuffs on a dark textured surface.

Known for her role in ‘NYPD Blue,’ Emmy-winning actress Kim Delaney was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in a domestic dispute with her husband.

Her nearly three-year husband, James Morgan, was also arrested on charges of spousal battery.

Their Hollywood facade crumbled as authorities revealed a history of violence and abuse that culminated in their dual arrests at their Marina Del Rey home.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at the couple’s residence on the 14000 block of Marquesas Way around 10:15 a.m. over the weekend.

What they found led deputies to take both Delaney and Morgan into custody after what sources described as “a heated argument that turned physical.”

“Subsequent to an investigation by deputies, Mrs. Kim Delaney was arrested for an assault with a deadly weapon and Mr. James Morgan was arrested for battery,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in their official report.

At the same time, law enforcement sources described the incident as “a heated argument that turned physical.”

Morgan was released on a $20,000 bond, while Delaney’s release status remained unclear as of Monday morning. Both are scheduled to appear at the LAX Courthouse to face their respective charges.

This incident marks another chapter in their troubled relationship, which allegations of abuse and violence have marred.

Moreover, court records revealed that Delaney filed for divorce just five months after their October 2022 marriage, citing domestic violence.

In her filing for a temporary restraining order, Delaney detailed a pattern of abuse:

“Whenever James gets mad, which is often he will shout loudly, push me, hit me, pull my hair. Neighbors have heard the noise & intervened often in the past year. The Sheriff came in March 2022 and many times in 2023.”

While the restraining order was initially issued in April 2023, it was never formalized because Delaney failed to appear in court for the hearing.

Despite these serious allegations and legal actions, the couple apparently remained together in their Marina Del Rey home until this recent violent confrontation.

This is not Delaney’s first brush with the law or personal troubles. The actress has a documented history of alcohol-related issues, including a past DUI and multiple stints in rehabilitation facilities.

A video from 2011 showing Delaney giving an incoherent speech at a military event went viral, with many speculating she was under the influence at the time.

The now-arrested actress rose to fame with her Emmy-winning performance as Detective Diane Russell on the hit ABC police drama NYPD Blue.

She won the prestigious award in 1997 and received three nominations in total for the role. Her career also includes notable appearances in Army Wives, All My Children, and General Hospital.

Prior to her marriage to Morgan, Delaney was married to actors Charles Grant and Joe Cortese, with whom she has a son.

This arrest comes at a time when Hollywood continues to wrestle with issues of domestic violence and substance abuse among its elite.

It also highlights once again that fame and fortune provide no immunity from personal struggles and the consequences of breaking the law.
