NOW: Trump Supporters Are Celebrating This Big Win While Everyone Else Is Worried

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – The results of a 2024 GOP Presidential Nomination Straw Poll conducted at CPAC — the Conservative Political Action Conference that just concluded near Washington DC — overwhelmingly favored former President Donald Trump, causing his supporters to celebrate while most everyone else worried about their favorite candidate.

Specifically, the Conservative Political Action Conference held its annual straw poll on Saturday. The results showed that former President Donald Trump remains the Republican Party’s leading candidate for the 2024 Presidential primaries.

62% of attendees voted for Trump, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in second place with 20% support.

Other declared GOP candidates, such as former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, received only 3% and 1% of the vote, respectively.

Michigan businessman Perry Johnson, who recently ran a Super Bowl ad for his long-shot campaign for the GOP nomination, came in third place with 5% of the vote.

Joseph Belnome, a New Jersey building inspector, cast his vote for Trump because, as he stated, “I already know [Trump] knows what he’s doing and when he gets in there he doesn’t have to have on-the-job training. He’s going to know exactly what to do.”

The poll results came before Trump’s keynote address at the conference, which was a fiery attack on Bush-era Republicans and “warmongers” within the GOP, as well as a warning that unlimited aid to Ukraine could result in a global World War III.

Trump also urged CPAC supporters to help transform the GOP into his populist image by backing his third White House run in 2024.

A Trump aide stated, “Trump has completely remade the party since he’s become president. He realized there’s a difference between what grassroots activists thought and what Bush Republicans in Washington, D.C., were trying to enact.”

However, the annual convention, held in National Harbor, Maryland, was marked by the absence of top Republicans, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, as well as DeSantis.

The conference has been reduced in size due to the recent allegations against CPAC boss Matt Schlapp, who has been accused of groping a male staffer and was later served with a lawsuit from the anonymous accuser.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and former Rep. Lee Zeldin also spoke at the conference.

Bolsonaro fired up the crowd with his address and teased a possible third campaign for the Brazilian presidency. At the same time, Zeldin savaged New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand as “one of the laziest, most forgettable, unaccomplished senators in the country.” The panel discussion fueled speculation that Zeldin will challenge Gillibrand when she runs for re-election in 2024.

In conclusion, the CPAC straw poll results show that Trump remains the leading candidate for the 2024 Republican Presidential primaries. However, the absence of other top Republicans suggests that the GOP is still divided, and the party’s future remains uncertain.
