(GoRealNewsNow.com) – Ruffling socialist feathers across the globe, President Donald Trump’s bold move to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” has caused Mexico’s President to complain about the change.

In a decisive executive order, Trump has taken steps to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” sparking a heated international debate.

Predictably, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has pushed back against this America-first initiative.

“So what corresponds to the continental shelf of the United States, which they call the ‘Gulf of America,’ for us is still the Gulf of Mexico. And for the whole world, it will continue to be the Gulf of Mexico,” she said.

Part of Trump’s initiative to bring “common sense to government,” the order tasks U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum with updating federal maps to reflect this change.

Trump announced the name change during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, emphasizing the Gulf’s importance to America’s economy and future.

“We’re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring that covers a lot of territory, the Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. And it’s appropriate. It’s appropriate,” Trump declared.

The Gulf of Mexico, the ninth-largest body of water globally, is crucial for U.S. petroleum refining and seafood supply.

By asserting American dominance over this vital resource, Trump’s action seeks to prioritize U.S. interests and challenge the status quo of international boundaries.

The president announced earlier this month that he wanted to rename the Gulf of Mexico while talking about corruption in Mexico.

“We have a massive deficit with Mexico and we help Mexico a lot. They’re essentially run by the cartels. And we can’t let that happen. Mexico is really in trouble. A lot of trouble. A very dangerous place,” Trump stated.

Trump’s vision extends beyond the Gulf, with past suggestions to expand U.S. territory by proposing Canada become the 51st state and expressing interest in acquiring Greenland.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has already shown support for the name change, issuing an executive order referring to the gulf as the “Gulf of America.”

The “Gulf of America” stands as a symbol of this renewed focus on national pride and interests despite opposition from those who would rather see America’s influence diminished.
