(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING NEWS NOW: A man was killed, and three others were injured in a targeted shooting outside a funeral home in Washington, DC, according to the police.
The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. after attendees departed from a funeral service for a murder victim at the Stewart Funeral Home in Northeast Washington.

DC Police Chief Robert Contee expressed his disbelief at the event during a press conference, saying, “How low can you be of a human being to target people at a funeral?”
The deceased man was declared dead on the scene, while the three injured individuals were quickly transported to a nearby hospital with what seemed to be non-critical injuries.
Contee stated that investigators were still working to understand why these four victims were targeted. The victims were near the sidewalk when they were shot, and police mentioned that it didn’t seem like they had exchanged gunfire with the shooter.
The police chief didn’t provide additional details on why authorities believe the victims were targeted. Contee said the funeral they were attending was for a person who had been killed in late March.
A police officer had been stationed near the funeral home at the family’s request, which Contee mentioned was standard procedure for homicide victim services.
Currently, police have no suspects in the shooting and are asking witnesses to provide any relevant information. After the shooting, officers in the area advised people to watch for a green vehicle leaving the scene.
A reporter from WUSA9 at the scene mentioned seeing a man walking around the street in a blood-stained T-shirt following the shooting.
Numerous streets around the funeral home were closed as the investigation continued, and a substantial police presence remained on the scene.
