LGBTQ+ Pride Marches Banned

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – In a way that many American conservatives wish would happen in the United States, Hungary now stands firm for family values as its parliament passed a law banning LGBTQ+ Pride marches to protect children from woke ideologies.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government secured a decisive victory in the 136-27 vote, delivering a significant win for traditional values advocates.

The measure aims to shield minors from sexual propaganda while enforcing substantial penalties for those who violate the new regulations.

The groundbreaking legislation passed by Hungary’s parliament amends the country’s assembly law to prohibit events that violate its child protection legislation.

The law specifically targets public gatherings that promote homosexuality to minors, with lawmakers making it clear that protecting children’s “proper development” takes priority over other considerations.

Prime Minister Orbán’s Fidesz party, alongside its Christian Democrat coalition partners, demonstrated its commitment to traditional family values by swiftly passing the measure with a parliamentary supermajority.

Under the new regulations, individuals attending prohibited events could face fines of up to 200,000 Hungarian forints ($546), sending a clear message that Hungary takes seriously its responsibility to uphold family values.

The legislation allows authorities to use facial recognition technology to identify attendees at unauthorized events, providing law enforcement with powerful tools to enforce the ban.

This strong approach represents part of a broader defense of traditional values that Orbán’s government has championed since taking power in 2010.

This included previous measures that abolished legal recognition of transgender people in 2020 and banned depictions of homosexuality to minors in 2021.

Moreover, Hungary’s government has repeatedly affirmed that its policies aim to protect children from “sexual propaganda” while upholding traditional family values that have formed the backbone of European civilization for centuries.

The law restricts LGBTQ content in media and education and prohibits public displays of non-binary gender identities that could confuse young children.

Tamás Dombos, a project coordinator at Hungarian LGBTQ+ rights group Háttér Society, stated:

“It’s a very common strategy of authoritarian governments not to talk about the real issues that people are affected by: the inflation, the economy, the terrible condition of education and health care.”

When leftist opposition lawmakers resorted to lighting smoke bombs in parliament to protest the vote, they only reinforced the perception that opponents lack substantive arguments against protecting children.

Meanwhile, real Hungarian citizens struggling with inflation and economic challenges have largely supported the government’s efforts to preserve traditional values rather than cave to external pressures.

The European Union has predictably challenged Hungary’s 2021 child protection law, claiming it discriminates based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

This represents yet another instance of EU bureaucrats attempting to force their progressive agenda onto sovereign nations that wish to uphold their own cultural and moral standards.

Budapest Pride organizers, scheduled to celebrate their 30th anniversary on June 28, have faced a significant setback with this legislation.

However, many Hungarian parents are breathing a sigh of relief that their children will be protected from exposure to adult sexual content and gender ideology at public events.

Despite protests from left-wing activists who blocked Budapest’s Margaret Bridge, the Hungarian government has remained steadfast in its commitment to defending children and families.

As other European nations continue to buckle under pressure from LGBTQ activists, Hungary stands as a beacon for conservatives worldwide who believe parents should determine what values their children are exposed to.
