Jim Jordan Set To Expose FBI and Twitter’s Role in 2020 Election

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – United States Rep. Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, plans to investigate the alleged “weaponization” of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI during the 2020 presidential election.

In an exclusive interview with The New York Post, Jordan revealed that his investigation will focus on a trove of documents sent by the FBI to Twitter just hours before The Post published revelations about Hunter Biden.

FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan sent the documents to Twitter’s head of Trust and Safety, Yoel Roth, on October 13, 2020, via a one-way communications channel called Teleporter. Jordan stated, “It’s one of the things we want to get access to, those communications via Teleporter that took place in the run-up to the election.”

Twitter officials used the FBI’s supposed guidance to justify banning The Post’s exposé of Hunter Biden’s laptop just weeks before the 2020 presidential election. Jordan plans to call Chan to testify before Congress. He stated, “Definitely one of the people we want to talk to.”

Jordan is widely expected to become the chair of the new select subcommittee investigating the FBI and DOJ’s alleged weaponization, in addition to his role as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. As a member of the House Oversight Committee, he also expects to play a role in their separate investigation of President Biden and his son, Hunter.

On Friday, Jordan launched a new investigation into President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents through the Judiciary Committee, according to Fox News. Jordan stated, “All I know is the obvious. Clinton mishandled classified documents, Biden mishandled classified documents, and President Trump is the only one who gets their home raided.”

Jordan plans to open his subcommittee probe with an avalanche of FBI whistleblowers. The original roster of 14 he boasted of in November has now ballooned into “dozens” of agents who have come forward to tell their stories. He stated, “They want to go public. It looks to us that many have already been retaliated against by the FBI.” He added that some whistleblowers had been suspended or had their security clearance revoked as punishment for speaking to his office.

Jordan also plans to investigate the role of Timothy Thibault, a former assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, who allegedly undermined the bureau’s internal probe of Hunter Biden before the election. Jordan stated, “So that’s someone we will talk to.”

The chairman said he believes FBI Director Christopher Wray had not been honest with him during previous appearances before the committee. He stated, “Time and time again we have heard one thing from Chris Wray and we get the Inspector General telling us something different.”

Jordan and his GOP allies have cited the 1975 Church Committee as a model for how their probe might proceed. The Senate select committee led then by Idaho Democrat Frank Church was tasked with investigating deep state abuses from the intelligence community.

The committee was strongly bipartisan and included arch-conservatives like Arizona Sen. Barry Goldwater and liberals like Minnesota Sen. Walter Mondale. However, Jordan conceded that his select subcommittee would probably be more partisan. He could not name a single House Democrat prepared to work with him.
