Moreover, the U.S. State Department said in an alert from the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince on Monday that it was aware of a pause in operations at the city’s airport.
It also issued a stern warning against travel to Haiti, citing “kidnapping, crime, civil unrest, and poor health care infrastructure.”
“The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince is aware of gang-led efforts to block travel to and from Port-au-Prince which may include armed violence, and disruptions to roads, ports, and airports,” the alert said.
While the Biden administration’s weak foreign policy and lax approach to border security have emboldened criminals and put American lives at risk, this incident serves as a wake-up call to prioritize American safety and interests both at home and abroad.
