BREAKING VIDEO: SpaceX Starship Rocket Explodes

(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING VIDEO: The SpaceX Starship, the biggest and most powerful rocket ever created, exploded mid-air on Thursday morning during its initial test flight. The explosion occurred after the rocket took off from a launchpad in South Padre Island, Texas.

You can watch the video of the launch and eventual explosion at the bottom of this post.

Only minutes after the launch, the 400-foot unmanned rocket, engineered to transport people and materials to the Moon and Mars, exploded. The original plan was for the Starship to complete a single lap around the world and then land in Hawaii.

Despite the technical mishap, SpaceX issued a statement on Thursday morning, saying that the launch was the first step in a long process and should be regarded as a success.

The company’s official Twitter account posted, “As if the flight test was not exciting enough, Starship experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly before stage separation.” The tweet praised the SpaceX team for the test, emphasizing that the knowledge gained would help improve Starship’s reliability.

Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, was present during the event and shared a similarly optimistic outlook despite the failed rocket test. He tweeted, “Congrats @SpaceX team on an exciting test launch of Starship! Learned a lot for the next launch in a few months.”

Recently, Musk committed to donating $10 million to help rejuvenate Brownsville, the Texas border town where SpaceX is located. Residents have complained that the company bought most of the houses in the area. Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño told CNN that this investment could positively impact the community for years, especially since the area is economically distressed.

SpaceX was established in 2002 by Musk with the aim of revolutionizing space technology. The company’s mission is to significantly reduce the cost of space transportation and eventually assist humanity in colonizing Mars.

In April 2021, SpaceX outperformed Blue Origin, a rocketry company founded by Amazon executive Jeff Bezos, and secured a contract with NASA worth nearly $3 billion for its Starship rocket design. NASA’s mission involves using the SpaceX rocket to land astronauts on the moon for the first time in almost five decades.

Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted SpaceX permission to conduct an unmanned flight test.
