(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING NOW: United States House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, just handed Fox News show host Tucker Carlson a huge “gift.”
Specifically, the 41,000 hours of surveillance footage filmed during the January 6th riot at the US Capitol has finally been released, but not to the public.
According to a report in Axios, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given the footage to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Producers from Carlson’s TV show have reportedly started going through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over the Capitol grounds. Excerpts of the footage are expected to air in the coming weeks.
Tucker Carlson has a controversial history when it comes to covering the January 6th attack, where a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building, causing violence and death.
On the day of the attack, Carlson expressed alarm and described the events as a “storming” of the Capitol building.
However, he downplayed the violent attack in the following months and even suggested that it was a “false flag.”
In an interview with Axios, Carlson stated that there was never any legitimate reason for the footage to remain secret.
He believes the public has a right to know what happened on January 6th and that the footage will reveal the truth.
He stated that he cannot understand why any honest person would be bothered by the release of the footage.
It should be noted that the footage of the attack was extensively aired during last year’s House Select Committee hearings on January 6th. However, by giving the footage to Tucker Carlson, the public may see far more of what took place.
