NBC News was the first to report these charges, which mark the end of a five-year inquiry into Hunter Biden, who is 53 years old.
The investigation was primarily focused on the income he obtained from business operations overseas.
As part of this agreement with the Justice Department, President Biden’s son will acknowledge his guilt on two counts of deliberately not paying federal income taxes, as well as one firearm-related violation.
After his father’s victory in the 2020 presidential election, Hunter Biden publicly announced that his “tax affairs” were under scrutiny by the Delaware US Attorney’s Office.
The investigation was headed by David Weiss.
