(GoRealNewsNow.com) – BREAKING NEWS NOW: Police are currently conducting a manhunt for one or more individuals in connection with the shooting of two firefighters. This event unfolded at a fire station in Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday.
The firefighters were carrying out their usual morning tasks at Station 9 in the Norwood area, situated on 27th Street North.
At the time of the incident, the station’s bay door was open, allowing the perpetrator or perpetrators to enter the premises, stated Police Chief Scott Thurmond.
The shooting transpired within the station at about 8:30 a.m., informed Capt. Orlando Reynolds.
Both injured firefighters were rushed to UAB Hospital, where their condition has been declared serious, as per Capt. Reynolds’ report.
Currently, the authorities suspect this shooting to be a deliberate act. However, no arrests have been made yet, and the police are working on getting more information on the potential suspects.
Expressing his concern, Chief Thurmond said, “I find it extremely troubling.”
